No-Knead Bread / Pain sans pétrissage

No Knead Bread

Everybody had made & talked about this bread. This week-end there was only Mathieu & I. Maxime was in Vancouver. So I wanted to baked a good bread for his return. I decided to make the No-Knead bread from the NY Times because it's the fastest & easiest bread that I have ever baked. It's still as good as the first time I made it.

I love no-knead bread, I make it all the time. I made it for a dinner party a few weeks ago and threw in a few handfuls of walnuts. My friends were so impressed, they couldn't believe I made it myself!

Helene,
I definitely have to try this bread. I looked at your picture and I feel that the bread has this really tender crumb. I am sure it was very wholesome and enjoyable!

Chere Helene,

Ton pain est tres beau! I am still astounded by how longer fermentation times at cooler temperatures brings such a change in the finished loaf.

By the way, I am also Canadian - I spent nearly all of my childhood in Ontario and have only recently moved to Vermont for graduate studies. Thanks for dropping by my blog today.

p.s. Et felicitations pour tes awards!

It's fun just how easy and good that bread comes out. It's the only time I've ever had a bread sing to me.

I make this bread all the time now, since discovering the recipe a few months ago. It's so amazingly good, and it gives my mixer a rest, too! I just love it!

Funny how I was struggling with a bad brownie craving and I read your previous post, and it made it worse, but now that I saw this post, I started smelling freshly baked bread on the counter top. Oh you surely are one talented lady!

You know I stay away from baking breads because of the whole kneading part. Do you really not knead it? Is it really that simple? Hmmm. Well, your pictures are fabulous, love the side of butter there.
Did you get my email for the chicken curry salad ok?

No knead sounds about my level. Either my dough is really hard or my upper body strength is lacking, but my recent kneading attempt left me regretting the recipe.

Congratulations on the awards.
