Chocolate-Topped Peanut-Toffee Bars - Snow day & a really good bar recipe

We are having a big snow day here in Comox. They are forecasting up to 40 cm of snow. I love it. So I'm making some homemade baguettes to go with a nice french onion soup.

Here I'm sharing with you a really good treat, this is a Chocolate-Topped Peanut-Toffee Bars. These bars won a grand prize. No wonder why. They are so good that my son were selling those at school and the kids wanted more. The base is a nice peanut butter cookie mix. You bake it for 10 min. and then top it with butter, brown suger, potato chips (yes, this is the secret ingredient) and peanuts. Back to the oven for 15 min. Once out of the oven they are topped with 2 cups of chocolate chips. They are melted in the oven for an extra 2 min. and then you spred it. Wait couple hours and they are ready to eat. They freeze well also.
