My parents always send us cans of real maple syrup, as a gift, in March. Our supply usually last one year. This recipe took me 2 minutes to prepare. Then it goes in the oven for 30 minutes. While it is cooking you can prepare some brown rice and vegetables, as side dishes. A nice green vegetable, like asparagus, will add color to your plate. You can prepare the recipe the night before and let it marinate, in the refrigerator, for up to 24 hrs.
I will make this recipe again and I might try the sauce with pork chops. When Spring comes do you like to make recipes with maple syrup?
MAPLE-GLAZED CHICKEN DRUMMETTES
Ingredients
20 chicken drummettes (2-1/4 lb./1 kg)
1/4 cup Kraft Extra Virgin Olive Oil Fig Balsamic Dressing
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 Tbsp. reduce-sodium soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green onion, thinly sliced
2-1/2 cups hot cooked long-grain brown rice
2-1/2 cups hot steamed snow peas
Directions:
1- Preheat oven to 400F. Place chicken on a baking dish. Mix balsamic dressing, maple syrup, soy sauce and garlic and pour over ingredients.
2- Cook in oven for approx. 28 mins or until chicken is done. Turn after 15 mins.
3- Heat broiler. Broil chicken for 2 minutes until browned.
4- Serve with green onions on top.
TIP: When the chicken is on special, at your grocery store, double the recipe and you will have leftovers for your lunch. Hot steamed snow peas are also yummy with this chicken.
