We always have hummus in the fridge. We eat it for lunch with pita bread and we use it in so many recipes. When I bring a dip with hummus at any party I know that people will enjoy it. You can dip different things in hummus like vegetables, garlic bread, tortilla chips. Personally I like to make my own Pita Chips with Zaatar and Sumac. I cut them in triangles before baking and remove them from the oven when they are crisp.
Hummus is also good in sandwiches, I like to try different kinds like Roasted Red Pepper and then pile cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes on my sandwich. It's a good alternative to butter or mayonnaise, and it's healthier. For a quick lunch this Greek Salad with Hummus Pizza is also delicious!
With the arrival of fall we are starting to receive invitations for parties. Thanksgiving is this week-end in Canada. My sister invited us and my parents to her cottage close to Orford in Quebec. At this time of the year the leaves are gorgeous and it will be peaceful to spend a couple days by the lake. When we get together we each take turns making meals and appetizers. We share the food and this Hummus Dip with Pita Chips is the perfect dip to make.
What are your plans for the long week-end?
